A canvas size guide for every room
A simple rule linking canvas size to wall size and viewing distance, with ready picks per room.
The most common mistake when ordering a canvas is going too small, so the piece looks lost on the wall. The practical rule: let the canvas fill about 60–75% of the empty space above the furniture (sofa, bed, table).
Living room: above a two-metre sofa, choose one large 80×120 piece or three 40×60 panels side by side. This wall is the first thing people see, so don't skimp on size.
Bedroom: above a double bed, a horizontal 60×90 feels calm and balanced. Avoid very small sizes here as they break the harmony.
Hallways and entryways: narrow spaces suit tall 30×40 or 40×60 pieces, or a small gallery-wall cluster.
Desk or small nook: a square 30×30 piece or a small standing tabletop canvas is enough and adds a personal touch without clutter.
💡 Dema tip: before ordering, cut a sheet of paper to the canvas size and tape it on the wall for a day — you'll decide with confidence. All sizes are available on Dema Frames with a preview before printing.
